Ode To Past Pets; Charm bracelet

Piggy bead, Rex bead, Solder bead

Clay, Elasticated string, 2015

This project is a long standing continuation of the Ode to past pets project, in which each bead symbolises a lost pet through its colourings and markings, that are based upon the pets physical characteristics. Each bead is unique to each pet. this almost acts as a charm bracelet which is added to over time.

Ode To Past Pets

"Piggy" bracelet

"Rex" bracelet

Clay, Elasticated string, 2015

This project is simply the act of remembering past pets, I create abstract beads which are unique to each pet through the representation of the markings on their fur. The beads are then looped through elasticated string to create a remembrance bracelet for the past pet.

I Think... Adrian ...

Clay, Watercolour Paint, Crystal Resin, Glass Paint, 2014

Adrian is the face of a passing thought, recorded in clay by my actions at the time of thinking, he is an abstract something which even I cant pull from the depths of my mind. An automatic manifestation of whatever was going through my mind at the time. He is abstract and automatic and protected by a half clear half murky shell, that makes it impossible for this thought to leave its strangely shaped and highly experimental bubble. Trying to pull Adrian out of his shell is like somebody trying to have a conversation with me. It is deep and in there somewhere but not quite ready to come out.

I Think... is an ongoing experimental project about thought, while I think I react physically to the materials before me almost like doodling in 3D. The conceived Adrian ( the face of the passing thought) is then cast, ( or protected from the outside world) by a thick bubble of colour-clouded crystal resin.
